Ted Lachus leads Primera’s transportation division with a passion for mentoring his staff. As he explains “I enjoy using my experiences, both at and outside the office, to make people better at what they do. We pride ourselves on providing professional services that make the people we work for look good to the people they work for.” Ted has more than 30 years of experience in the planning, study, design, and management of transportation projects for local streets, primary and arterial highways, expressways, freeways, and tollways.
Ted earned his degree in civil engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Throughout his career, Ted has been involved in all facets of transportation engineering, including project coordination with clients and stakeholders; developing and monitoring project scopes, budgets, and schedules; managing and coordinating project personnel and subconsultants; performing traffic analysis and hydrologic and hydraulic studies; developing highway geometrics, traffic control and staging plans, storm water system layouts and designs, site plans, right-of-way (ROW) plats and legal descriptions, special provisions and cost estimates; and the preparation of public meeting exhibits. He has also developed and reviewed quality control plans and performed peer reviews and quality assurance audits.
When he’s not leading Primera’s transportation team, he is likely gardening, antiquing, cooking or fostering puppies for a local dog rescue organization. He’s also a big fan of the British sci-fi television show Doctor Who.
