Lighting Studio Manager Covers 2018 International Energy Conservation Code

Starting in March 2019, the 2018 International Energy Conservation Code will be adopted in Illinois. This update will bring about several changes aimed at protecting the environment and reducing energy consumption. These changes not only bring about some major overhauls, but also include some sneaky additions as well. Primera’s resident lighting expert Deborah Steimel-Clair is well-versed and understands these recent changes in energy codes, especially as they apply to lighting controls. Throughout the first half of the year she is on the quest to spread her knowledge and expertise to as many design professionals as she can as part of her “one-woman roadshow” speaking at various industry events.

If you would like to learn about what has changed in the requirements since the preceding 2015 edition and how these changes can have a big impact on your next project, then be sure to catch Deb at one of the following sessions or reach out to her individually for speaking opportunities at your firm.

Once again, energy codes are changing, and with the changes come some sneaky additions. For example, did you know that skylights are now required? But which code does this reference? If you answered incorrectly or did not know the answer then you need to meet Deb or reach out for her to speak at your firm about the recent additions, sneaky expansions, and major overhauls of the most recent energy codes.
