Each year, since 2006, Building Design+Construction magazine selects 40 emerging AEC leaders under the age of 40 who have distinguished themselves by their career achievements, service to their professions and communities, and active participation in charitable work. This year’s recipients will gather for BD+C’s annual Leadership Summit “Building the Future You” in New York City later this Fall for leadership development, team building, and networking.
Primera is both honored and humbled to have one of our very own, Josh Greenfield, PE, recognized with this significant achievement. Josh is our resident energy efficient expert with so many licenses and certifications that we joke that he has almost every letter in the alphabet after his name. He is a licensed professional Mechanical Engineer (PE), LEED Accredited Professional for both Building Design and Construction as well as Operations and Maintenance (LEED AP BD+C, O+M), Building Energy Modeling Professional (ASHRAE BEMP) and a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) that specializes in energy grant acquisition, extensive energy consulting and sustainable design. His expertise is in Energy Model creation following ASHRAE 90.1 Guidelines as well as Integrated Design Phase Energy Modeling to aide in the selection of architectural envelope properties and mechanical system efficiencies. His knowledge of Energy Modeling is utilized as a reviewer of City of Chicago Department of Building’s Green Permit Program Energy Models as well as a member of the International Code Council (ICC) Sustainable Building Technology Committee (SBTC) that developed the first International Green Construction Code (IgCC) that debuted in March 2012.
Josh is a published author in industry publications and has been invited to speak at various industry events. He dedicates a portion of his free time to volunteering and serving on a number of technical committees for professional and non-profit organizations. He is no stranger to “40 Under 40” awards as this is his third recognition in this category. Josh was previously recognized as one of Engineering News-Record Midwest’s “20 Under 40” in 2013 and Consulting-Specifying Engineer’s “40 Under 40” in 2012. Primera would like to congratulate Josh and the rest of BD+C’s “40 Under 40” Class of 2014 on this outstanding achievement.
