Primera is pleased to announce our Aviation Group Manager, Joseph Avram, PE, LEED AP BD+C, was selected as the 2019 Young Civil Engineer of the Year by the American Society of Civil Engineers Illinois Section (ASCE-IL). This prestigious award recognizes early professional accomplishments and unique contributions to the civil engineering profession or community. Joe was honored for his innovative problem-solving skills, rigorous attention to detail, and unmatched collaboration skills which have helped him manage a running total of 30 airport projects nationwide.
Before the age of 26, Joe had earned a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from Bradley University, a Master in Business Administration from Northern Illinois University, and a Master of Science degree in civil engineering from Purdue University. Joe began his career 13 years ago, concentrating on engineering design and project management in transportation. However, for the last 9 years, his niche and passion for airport and airline projects became the focus of his career. He has successfully navigated projects ranging from runways and taxiways, deicing facilities and ramp control towers, hangars and aprons, ground equipment maintenance facilities, fuel and glycol distributions stations, and corporate data centers. In that time, he’s developed a critical understanding of how to solve complex design challenges posed at two of the busiest airports in the country – O’Hare International and Dallas/Fort Worth International.
Primera would like to congratulate Joe and the other 2019 ASCE-IL Section Award Winners. For more information on ASCE-IL visit www.isasce.org.
