Lourdes Gonzalez Named Among Crain’s Chicago Businesss Notable Leaders in Sustainability for 2025

Congratulations to Lourdes Gonzalez, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, ND on being named one of Crain’s Chicago Business’s 2025 Notable Leaders in Sustainability. This recognition reflects her efforts and dedication to advancing environmental sustainability initiatives and making a meaningful impact within the architecture, engineering, and construction industry. We’re proud to celebrate Lourdes and her well-deserved honor.

Lourdes, a Senior Vice President, developed Primera’s sustainability programs more than 25 years ago and has continued to help elevate Primera’s reputation in green design since. She brings a thoughtful approach to client engagement, project development, and sustainable strategies that continue to support the firm’s growth and sustainability goals. A licensed architect and LEED-accredited professional, Lourdes specializes in architectural design, program management, historic preservation, and energy-efficient planning for a wide range of facilities, including schools, hospitals, municipalities, and aviation facilities. Her work helped expand our impact across multiple U.S. regions and into Mexico City, advancing green building innovation and environmental goals for clients.

Earlier this year, Lourdes was recognized as one of the Top 50 Latinas in Construction from Negocios Now Who’s Who in Hispanic Chicago. In 2023, she received the Mujer Maravilla Award from the Hispanic Alliance for Career Enhancement and was honored with the Chicago United Business Leaders of Color Award in 2021. She earned a Master of Architecture in Historic Preservation and a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. She is also actively involved in several professional organizations such as Construction Management Association of America Chicago Chapter and National Sustainability committee, the Illinois Chapter of the American Council of Engineering Companies, the Hispanic American Construction Industry Association, and the Zero Energy Commercial Buildings Consortium. She serves as the President of the Board for UCAN Chicago and frequently speaks at industry events.
