Jason DeRosa and Rina Vidri Promoted to Group Managers

Primera Engineers (Primera) is very pleased to announce that Jason DeRosa and Rina Vidri have been promoted to Electrical Group Manager and Mechanical Group Manager, respectively. Housed within Primera’s Buildings Division, Jason and Rina will now be responsible for managing the firm’s mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineers, while still overseeing the design and coordination of several projects. Together, they will lead and mentor the next generation of engineers and educate them on industry codes, standards and best practices.

Jason has served as Primera’s resident electrical engineering expert for over 10 years. As a LEED-certified professional engineer in the States of Illinois, California, Wisconsin, Indiana and Iowa, Jason has designed electrical systems for institutional, educational, commercial, and residential facilities. His design experience includes emergency and normal power systems, fire alarm systems, and lighting systems. He is also skilled in power distribution and emergency power supply systems analysis. Jason studied electrical engineering at Purdue University and was most recently recognized as a Consulting-Specifying Engineers’ 40 Under 40 Award winner in 2017. He also received the William P. Hogan Award for Technical Merit in 2016 from the Chicagoland Electric Association.

Since 2012, Rina has been one of Primera’s mechanical engineering gurus. Her expertise is the result of nearly 25 years of experience leading mechanical projects for several firms. Her work includes design, project management, coordination, and quality assurances for all phases of project development – particularly for higher education, healthcare, and institutional environments. Rina is a LEED-certified professional engineer in the State of Michigan and studied mechanical engineering at the Riga Technical University in Latvia in Eastern Europe.

Both Rina and Jason are well-positioned to continue building our reputation for excellence in the Midwest and across the United States as Primera continues to expand. “Rina and Jason have both excelled at always putting our clients’ needs first. We’re enthusiastic and eager to see their continued growth as they rise to the challenge of inspiring our younger engineers to follow in their footsteps,” states Ken Panucci, Senior Vice President and Buildings Division Manager.

Founded in 1987, Primera is a full-service, certified woman-owned (WBE) engineering design and consulting firm offering a wide range of professional services with a focus in three major areas of expertise: Buildings, Transportation and Utilities.
