As college students, there is a lot of pressure to find the perfect Summer internship. Building your resume, expanding your network, and learning firsthand from professionals are just some of the benefits an internship provides. However, the biggest lesson I’ve learned from my internship experience here at Primera is the importance of growth.
By exploring new subject areas, meeting new people and trying new things, I’ve noticed that my knowledge isn’t the only thing expanding, but my confidence has too. Working at Primera has taught me to become comfortable in uncomfortable situations. While learning new software, processes and systems has taught me more about Marketing itself, pushing myself to succeed in these areas is what has truly helped me flourish. Taking on new responsibilities and accepting challenges this Summer has given me the opportunity to further my professional and personal development. From my learning experiences at Primera I’ve grown in many ways. Most importantly, however, this internship has opened my eyes to the benefits of maintaining an open mind, remaining flexible and staying ambitious. These are invaluable life-long skills that I will carry on to my final year at school, and throughout my continued career journey.
This Summer, Primera brought on nearly 15 interns across our Buildings, Transportation, Utilities, and Corporate divisions in our Chicago, Lisle, and Chadds Ford offices. Here’s what some of them had to say about their experience here at Primera:
