Primera Engineers is proud to support the launch of ComEd’s new Power Up Academy training program. This new and unique career training program is meant to strengthen a diverse pipeline of technical talent in Illinois. The 10-week program works to prepare men and women for high-demand, entry-level positions that support engineering teams and provide an array of professional opportunities within the energy industry—all without requiring a college degree.
ComEd has partnered with a select group of engineering firms to co-sponsor the Power Up Academy program. These firms assisted in the development of the program curriculum and agreed to recruit members of the Power Up Academy to fill clean energy positions within their companies. Primera is honored to be one of ComEd’s co-sponsors and proud to have a role in helping to remove barriers to provide opportunities in the utilities industry. “The need for technical talent – drafters, designers, and engineers – in our industry has never been greater,” said Erin Inman, Primera President & CEO. “We’re thrilled to partner with ComEd and some of their other Engineers of Choice to develop their solution to this need: Power Up Academy. The program will offer interested candidates the technical and soft skills needed to be successful in these entry level positions,” she continued. Primera is invested in the next generation of engineers and is excited to see the Power Up Academy program support and inspire future industry leaders.
