On Thursday, September 23rd, Director of Communications, Angie DeAlba, participated in a virtual town hall presented by Chicago news station ABC 7 in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. The hourlong event, part of the station’s “Our Chicago: Voices of the Community” series, explored what Latino leaders in STEM-related (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) fields are doing to educate and create pathways for the next generation of Latinos.
Angie was a guest panelist that included other Latino leaders in STEM. During the discussion, she focused on both Primera’s and the Primera Foundation’s efforts in making a positive difference in the community via our many programs and partnerships. Having been with us for 10 years, Angie has led and been highly involved with many of our give back initiatives. She is not only passionate about marketing the firm, its projects and its employees, but she’s equally as committed to promoting careers in STEM and is a strong advocate for diversity in the AEC (architecture, engineering and construction) industry.
