ASHRAE recently released the first edition of the Strategic Guide to Commissioning. The guide was produced by the Building Performance Alliance (BPA) committee on Commissioning, a group comprised of representatives from 14 major commissioning-related organizations and stakeholders. Primera co-CEO and President Michael DeSantiago was invited to join BPA as a representative for the Council of American Mechanical and Electrical Engineers (CAMEE). He currently serves as CAMEE’s Executive Committee Chair through 2015. Michael and Primera’s former Commissioning Manager, Jim Feeney, shared their engineering and commissioning authority expertise and knowledge through content development and review. They worked closely with the committee over the course of more than a year to develop the quality-focused, high level strategic commissioning document. The guide provides stakeholders with a basis for understanding enhanced delivery of new and existing building projects. It was developed for the array of professionals involved in designing, constructing, optimizing and operating buildings. View the Strategic Guide to Commissioning here.
“It was an honor to contribute to the development of a tool that will improve the commissioning process and subsequently building and system performance,” said Michael DeSantiago. “Much like what’s required of the actual commissioning process, we greatly enjoyed the opportunity to successfully collaborate with this group of the industry’s best and brightest.”
