Primera is thrilled to see one of our projects recognized as a 2022 ENR Midwest Best Project! The Pepper Family Wildlife Center at Lincoln Park Zoo has been named Best Project in the Cultural/Worship category. The renovated Lion House officially opened in October 2021, nearly doubling the size of the Lion habitat and adding new outdoor exhibit spaces.

The Pepper Family Wildlife Center was designed by Goettsch Partners and constructed by Pepper Construction. Primera provided mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering design for the Historic renovation. Our team worked diligently with Lincoln Park Zoo and project contractors to effectively update this landmark building which originally opened in 1912. Primera ensured that standardized features including air conditioning and life safety were properly integrated into the new design while maintaining the Historic status of the existing structure.
