Earlier this year, we announced that were were proudly named among Building Design+Construction’s (BD+C) Top Engineering/Architecture Firms for 2023 as part of their Giants 400 Report. In addition to the report, BD+C also ranks the top firms across 25 different building sectors and specialty categories. This year, a record 552 architecture, engineering, and construction firms submitted data for the Giants 400 Report, with the final report consisting of 137 rankings across 25 building sectors and categories. We’re happy to announce that we’ve been recognized as a top engineering firm in the following categories:
- Number 26 – Public Safety/Justice Facilities Sector: This ranking includes revenue from all public safety/justice facilities buildings work, including correctional facilities, fire stations, jails, police stations, and prisons. A sampling of our work in this category includes our Engine Company 109 Fire Station and the City of Chicago’s Districts 7 & 12 Police Stations projects.
- Number 59 – University/College Facilities Sector: By earning more than $1.5 million in higher education revenue, Primera earned a spot on this list of 80 firms. This ranking includes revenue for all university/college-related buildings except student residence halls, sports/recreation facilities, laboratories, S+T-related buildings, parking facilities, and performing arts centers.
- Number 49 – PK-12, Public, Private, Charter, Military Sector: Primera came in at number 49 out of 83 for largest K-12 school building engineering firms. Primera has a lengthy experience list for PK-12 projects; some examples include Mansueto High School, William Jones College Preparatory Academy, and Roberto Clemente (Galewood) Elementary School.
- Number 56 – Sports Facilities/Stadiums/Recreation Facilities Sector: This listing ranks the nation’s largest sports facility engineering and engineering/architecture firms. Primera came in at number 56 out of 70 firms in this category.
- Number 65 – Cultural Facilities Sector: This ranking includes revenue from all cultural building sectors, including concert venues, art galleries, museums, performing arts centers, and public libraries.
- Number 65 – Reconstruction Engineering Sector: Primera was ranked in the top 70 largest firms providing renovation and reconstruction engineering and architecture services.
- Number 54 – Federal Government Buildings Sector: This list ranks the largest engineering and engineering/architecture firms that contribute to federal government buildings.
- Number 51 – Local Government Buildings Sector: Primera earned a spot among the nation’s largest engineering architecture firms involved in all local government buildings and facilities.
- Number 72 – Multifamily Sector: This ranking factors revenue for all multifamily buildings work, including apartments, condominiums, student housing facilities, and senior living facilities.
- Number 68 – Apartment and Condominium Sector: Primera was named among the nation’s largest engineering firms involved in apartment complexes, and condominium buildings work.
- Number 93 – Healthcare Sector: This ranking includes revenue related to all healthcare buildings work, including hospitals, medical office buildings, and outpatient facilities. A sampling of our work in this category includes our Niles Medical Office Building project and our Rush University Medical Center Outpatient Cancer Center project.
- Number 87 – Hospital Facility Sector: This list includes the top engineering architecture firms involved in specifically hospital facility projects. One of Primera’s hospital projects is the Center for Care and Discovery at the University of Chicago Hospital.
- Number 44 – Museum Sector: Primera was named among the nation’s largest engineering firms doing work on assorted museums and galleries.
