Our Buildings Division is a multidisciplinary team delivering innovative mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and specialty engineering solutions. We provide full-service engineering and design services for both new and existing facilities across a diverse range of markets, including education, healthcare, government, aviation, laboratory, municipal, commercial, and campus environments.

We are seeking a Buildings Division Manager to provide strategic leadership and oversee the department as a whole across both our Chicago and Denver offices. This role will be responsible for guiding the growth and success of the Buildings team, strengthening client relationships, developing technical talent, supporting operational excellence, and driving the continued advancement of our multidisciplinary engineering services.

Who You Are

  • You are a strategic and accomplished engineering executive with 20+ years of industry experience and 10+ years of progressive leadership experience within the Buildings market, responsible for leading multidisciplinary MEP teams, expanding client relationships, driving operational excellence, and positioning the division for continued growth. 
  • You have a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related building systems engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited institution.  
  • You hold a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Electrical, Mechanical, or another applicable engineering discipline. 
  • You bring a strong technical foundation within the buildings industry, with the ability to leverage your engineering expertise to lead and oversee a multidisciplinary MEP department, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and related building systems.
  • You have strong experience leading large, multidisciplinary MEP teams, department managers, project managers, and technical staff.
  • You are passionate about mentoring teams, driving accountability, building a culture of excellence, and developing their talent.
  • You have experience in managing departmental P&L performance, resource planning, staffing strategies, and growth initiatives.

What You’ll Do

You will provide executive leadership for the entire Buildings Division, overseeing all MEP disciplines, operations, project delivery, staffing, and financial performance. 
You will establish and execute the strategic vision, growth plan, and business objectives for the Division. 
• You will lead and mentor department managers, technical leaders, and project management teams to ensure operational excellence. 
You will drive accountability across the organization through performance management, succession planning, and leadership development. 
• You will oversee division-wide resource management, utilization, workforce planning, recruiting, and retention strategies. 
You will partner with executive leadership to identify market opportunities, expand services, and drive sustainable growth. 
• You will lead business development efforts, maintain key client relationships, and support major pursuits and proposals. 
You will ensure consistent delivery of high-quality engineering solutions while maintaining profitability, schedule performance, and client satisfaction. 
You will monitor Division financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, revenue growth, and profitability metrics.
