Congratulations to Erin Lowery for being named to Crain’s Chicago Business 2023 Notable Women in STEM! Erin was chosen as one of several women nominated due to her impact on the architectural, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry. This award honors women not only on their career accomplishments, but also on their community involvement and mentorship experience.
As one of our project management experts, Erin’s accomplishments and various roles with us make her the ideal candidate for this award. She began working for Primera over twenty years ago as an intern and has excelled throughout her career to now serving as senior project manager in our Buildings division. As a mechanical engineer she has managed countless new construction and renovation projects from design through commissioning. She has a passion for sustainability and works to promote healthier and more efficient buildings, mostly in the education, healthcare, commercial, government, and recreation sectors. In addition to her extensive resume, Erin is a strong advocate for mentorship and supporting the next generation of engineers. She has spoken to groups of young girls about her personal experience as a woman working in a traditionally male-dominated industry. For several years she served as a mentor through various STEM-focused programs, including the ACE Mentor Program of America and through our partnership with Madero Middle School in Chicago. Through her active participation in these programs, Erin has helped over 200 students learn about AEC careers.
We would like to congratulate Erin and the other Notable Women in STEM for 2023 chosen by Crain’s Chicago Business and thank them for the impact they have made, while also serving to inspire more women and girls to pursue careers in STEM. To view the rest of the 2023 list, click here.
