It was a beautiful Spring evening in Chicago on Thursday, May 24th when members from Primera joined over 27,000 other runners to participate in the annual J.P.Morgan Corporate Challenge – a 3.5-mile race near Chicago’s Grant Park. The annual event usually brings out the largest single-night crowd for any Corporate Challenge in the U.S., and this year was no different with the final total clocking in at 27,777 participants from 692 companies.

Primera’s Wellness Committee organized the outing for employees which included much-needed food and drinks after the race. As the Wellness Committee’s Chair, Human Resources Director Kendahle Artis feels strongly about Primera’s yearly participation in the event. “We strive to provide a robust offering of well-being opportunities to our employees, whether they focus on physical, mental, financial, or emotional health. The fact that senior management covers a portion of the cost for each employee to run in the Corporate Challenge year after year, is proof that they are truly vested in the overall health of the organization,” she explains.

Not only does this event support our wellness (and fun) efforts, it also touches on our mission to give back to the community. J.P.Morgan donates a portion of the funds raised to Chicago Cares, the largest volunteer organization in Chicago. This money compounds itself as it supports an organization whose mission is to build a stronger, more unified Chicago through volunteerism.
