Honoring National Aviation Day

August 19th marks National Aviation Day in the United States. The holiday was established in 1939 by President Franklin D. Roosevelt to observe aviation pioneer Orville Wright’s birthday, and to celebrate the development of aviation. As a staple in the Chicago aviation community for over 20 years, Primera is proud to continue pushing the industry forward through our comprehensive engineering, design, and consulting services at airports across the Country.

As a Chicago-headquartered firm, we have built a strong partnership with local airports – O’Hare International Airport and Midway International Airport. However, in 2019 Primera took flight in bringing our aviation expertise to airports outside of Chicago. Since then, we have won nine contracts (three of which are multi-year task orders) at seven airports in five different states. We have provided a wide range of services to our clients including landside and airside civil, apron and roadway lighting, utilities, and facility service. These services have been provided at varying stages of projects including planning, design, construction administration, and commissioning. During this time, we have also brought on five new dedicated aviation engineers/planners and cross-trained numerous transportation engineers to support our efforts.

As a proud provider of aviation design services, we are always looking for opportunities to enhance and support the aviation industry. If you are looking for help with your next aviation project or looking to join our growing aviation team, please contact Aviation Group Manager, Joe Avram.

Happy National Aviation Day!
