Primera Engineers would like to congratulate our co-Founder Dr. Pedro Cevallos-Candau on his installation as Governor of Rotary International District 6450. Pedro was appointed at a ceremony held on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at the Union League Club of Chicago.
Pedro has been a member of the organization since 2001 and previously served as a board member, programming committee chair and secretary before being elected as the 111th, and first Latino, President of the Rotary Club of Chicago (ROTARY/One) in 2013. Pedro founded Primera Engineers with Michael DeSantiago in June of 1989 and led the organization until 2016 when he and Michael retired and transitioned ownership to then-Utilities Division Manager Erin Inman.
“Pedro will always have the full support of the Primera team in all of his endeavors,” said Erin Inman, Primera President and CEO who was on hand for the installation ceremony. “Pedro’s dedication to organizations like Rotary International continues to be an inspiration to us all. His passion for community involvement is a part of Primera’s legacy that will shape our culture for years to come,” she continues.
To honor Pedro’s commitment to the organization, Primera still actively supports ROTARY/One, recently welcoming a summer intern as part of their JOB1 Summer Internship Program. The organization’s signature program prepares Chicago high school students for the workplace by providing job readiness training as well as substantive paid summer internship opportunities with local businesses.
