Primera, as part of a joint venture with Bowman, Barrett & Associates and Christopher B. Burke Engineering, was retained by the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority (ISTHA) for the Master Plan and Phase II engineering services for the reconstruction and add lane project on the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway (I-90) from U.S. Route 20 to Elgin Plaza.
The Master Plan part of the project consists of the analysis for the roadway widening and reconstruction including a Location Drainage Study, Project Concept Report including geometric analysis of I-90, accident analysis, development of maintenance of traffic concepts, drainage analysis, and alternatives analysis. The Master Plan work also included interchange design studies at Randall Road and US Route 20, and the development of Bridge Condition Reports for the mainline I-90 bridges and all crossroad bridges within the project limits. The Phase II engineering design encompasses the advance widening of I-90 for the future reconstruction of the mainline pavement and the widening and reconstruction of I-90 from the Elgin Plaza to the C&NW Railroad bridge which also includes bridge improvements for the bridges at the C&NW Railroad, Tyrell Road, Randall Road and Sleepy Hollow Road. Primera also provided bridge inspections for the following structures: US 20 Ramp, Brier Hill Road, Henning Road, Sandwald Road, and Sleepy Hollow Road.
