On October 2nd, The Primera Foundation hosted its 2nd annual fundraising event, STEMFEST, at Brookfield Zoo. We are so proud of the Foundation and their efforts in promoting STEM education and opportunity throughout our communities!
The Foundation’s event was a fun-filled day of games, raffles, crafts and activities including face painting, a photo booth and a cartoonist. STEMFEST attendees enjoyed a delicious picnic buffet and bar and were able to explore the zoo grounds and exhibits.
The Primera Foundation, founded in 2019, promotes STEM careers through scholarship, technology, education and mentorship. The Foundation provides opportunities for all students to explore STEM-related concepts and careers in hopes of growing their passion for the industry. They aim to inspire STEM students to create a lasting impact within their communities.
“It was a joy to celebrate the impact we’ve already been able to make in such a short time with those that are helping us to make it possible,” explains Erin Inman, President & CEO of Primera Engineers and President of the Foundation. “Since 2019, we’ve been able to fund 17 scholarships for students through our support of Chicago Engineers’ Foundation and Chicago State University’s Rise Academy thanks in large part to the success and support of this event,” she continues.
Primera Engineers and the Primera Foundation would like to extend a huge thank you to all who attended, volunteered and donated to the event, including our Contributing and Giving sponsors:
