The Abbott Hall of Conservation Restoring Earth exhibit is a unique and inspiring display that changes the perception of what a museum can be by using videos, large-scale photographs, and hands-on learning tools to focus on active science. The exhibit allows museum guests to become immersed in adventures with museum scientists as they study the diversity of life and promote conservation from Chicago to South America to Pacific coral reefs and points in between.
Primera was chosen by the Field Museum to develop the core design for the 8,500-square-foot exhibit hall. Primera’s program scope for pre-construction included architectural floor plan development, accessibility code consulting, life safety code requirements incorporation, temperature controls modifications, and high-efficiency interior lighting system and controls design. Primera’s program scope for post-construction included LEED consulting, energy modeling and fundamental commissioning services.
The Abbott Conservation Hall Restoring Earth Exhibit at The Field Museum was awarded LEED Gold Certification, positioning the museum as a regional, and national, model for conservation and sustainability.
