Continuing a long-standing partnership that spans nearly 15 years, Primera once again proudly sponsored a home and homeowner as part of this impactful, citywide effort.
Primera Volunteers Support Homeowner During 2026 National Rebuilding Day
On Saturday, April 25th, National Rebuilding Day 2026, more than 25 Primera volunteers came together to give back to our community through Rebuilding Together Metro Chicago.
This year, our volunteers had the privilege of supporting Ms. C, whose home received a wide range of meaningful improvements focused on safety, comfort, and quality of life. With perfect weather setting the stage for a productive day, the Primera team rolled up their sleeves and made significant progress both inside and outside the home.
Volunteer efforts included extensive yard work in both the front and back of the property, helping to refresh and restore the outdoor spaces, rebuilding a stair railing, replacing doors, as well as painting the interior of the house. In addition, the team improved lighting throughout the home, installed a new washer and dryer, and completed other important upgrades designed to enhance the overall safety and functionality of the residence.
The day was led by team captains Bill Taylor and Jill Deichmann, who helped coordinate volunteers and ensure the work moved smoothly from start to finish. Ms. C was deeply appreciative of the care, energy, and generosity shown by the Primera team, expressing heartfelt thanks for the improvements made to her home.
The event was organized by Rebuilding Together Metro Chicago (RTMC), a local affiliate of Rebuilding Together—the nation’s largest volunteer organization dedicated to preserving affordable housing and revitalizing communities. Each year, National Rebuilding Day brings together thousands of volunteers across the region to help homeowners remain safe, warm, and secure in their homes.
Primera supported the project by providing both volunteer labor, resources for the necessary repairs, and a host of gifts and necessities provided to the homeowner from employees that were unable to participate on event day. Participation in National Rebuilding Day reflects our ongoing commitment to service, community partnership, and using our skills to make a tangible difference in the lives of others.
A special shoutout to Access Lighting and KSA Lighting & Controls for donating the light fixtures used to upgrade Ms. C’s home as well as Sherwin-Williams for donating all the paint and painting supplies used. These donations helped maximize our improvement budget.
