Primera Engineers is pleased to announce the promotion of Matt Villanueva, PE to Roadway Group Manager in our Transportation division. Matt has been one of Primera’s leading roadway designers since he joined the firm in 2014. As an expert transportation engineer and maintenance-of-traffic (MOT) specialist, Matt has managed countless roadway design projects and mentored junior engineers in the development of contract plans and documents including highway geometrics, traffic control and staging plans, signing, traffic analyses, special provisions, quantities and cost estimates, and preparation of public meeting exhibits.

With nearly 15 years of experience in the planning, study, and design of transportation projects, Matt’s versatility is vital to Primera’s continued growth in the transportation arena. As the new Roadway Group Manager, he will continue to tackle tough infrastructure challenges with a laser focus on safety, while continuing to share his technical knowledge across the rest of the division.

Matt studied Civil Engineering at the University of Illinois at Chicago where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree. He worked for several years as a roadway design engineer before joining Primera’s Transportation division where he has quickly moved up the ranks as one of the firm’s strongest roadway designers.
