Matt Dvorak Named A 2026 Crain’s Notable Leader in Communications

November 2, 2026

There are times when communication is about telling a great story. And there are times when it’s simply about making sure people understand what’s happening, why it matters, and where they fit in.

That philosophy has shaped Matt Dvorak’s approach throughout his career and his tenure at Primera. We’re proud to share that Matt, Primera’s Sr. Vice President of Marketing & Communications, has been named among Crain’s Chicago Business’ 2026 Notable Leaders in Communications.

Matt leads Primera’s strategic marketing, branding, and communications efforts and has been a member of the firm’s executive management team since 2021. Since joining the firm in 2013, the company has more than doubled in size, and his role has increasingly focused on how communication can support the business, strengthen its culture, and help the organization navigate change.

That role is particularly important at a company that practices open-book management through the Great Game of Business. Sharing information when the news is good is relatively easy. The harder part is communicating with the same level of openness when the business faces challenges. For Matt, that means giving employees the context they need to understand the business, being candid about what’s working and what isn’t, and helping people see the role they can play in moving the company forward.

It’s an example of something Matt has come to believe after more than 20 years working in marketing and communications in the AEC (architecture, engineering, and construction) industry: communications is most useful when it helps people understand the business and make better decisions, not simply when it makes the business look good.

His involvement outside Primera reflects that same commitment to organizations and communities. Matt has served on the Primera Foundation Board of Directors since 2018 and the Village of La Grange Design Review Commission since 2024. He previously served as co-chair of Canstruction Chicago and a Wish Granter for Make-A-Wish Illinois.

Crain’s selects its Notable honorees through a peer nomination and editorial review process and describes the profiles as recognizing leaders’ commitment to advancing their industries and communities.

Primera’s Sr. Director of Communications, Angie DeAlba, PCM was also recognized among the 80 honorees. Congratulations to Matt, Angie, and all of this year’s Crain’s Notable Leaders in Communications!
