Chandani leads Primera’s structural team with a passion for delivering thoughtful, high‑quality engineering solutions. With 15 years of experience, she enjoys collaborating with clients and multidisciplinary teams to bring transportation projects to life, whether it’s a straightforward structure or a complex bridge replacement. She thrives in roles that challenge her technically while allowing her to support and mentor fellow engineers. As Chandani shares, “my strongest passion is to make structural engineering fun and interesting. Continuously working on a variety of projects keeps myself and my team highly engaged.”
Chandani earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She is a licensed Structural Engineer in Illinois and a Professional Engineer in several states. She also serves as an Illinois Department of Transportation Program Manager for Bridge Inspection. Her experience spans Phase I, Phase II, and design‑build projects, including the design and analysis of bridges, culverts, and retaining walls. Chandani has worked across all stages of project development, from early scoping, type studies, and condition reports to final plans and specifications. She also leads efforts in bridge inspections, load ratings, and rehabilitation design. Her work with Department of Transportation clients has made her well‑versed in AASHTO LRFD, LFD, AREMA, and AASHTO MBE standards. Her technical depth and collaborative approach help her strengthen client relationships while guiding the growth of Primera’s structural practice.
Outside of work, Chandani enjoys baking, cooking and watching Bollywood movies. She also spends time cheering on her son at tennis matches, a new pastime she’s happily embraced. Chandani is committed to giving back to her engineering profession and serves on the Structural Engineering Association of Illinois (SEAOI) Continuing Education Committee, where she plans technical seminars that keep structural engineers current on evolving design standards.
