Paresh Thakkar is Primera’s leading water resources expert committed to delivering high-quality solutions across transportation, utility, aviation, and stormwater projects. He plays a key role in expanding the firm’s drainage and hydraulics capabilities and supports multidisciplinary teams. “My passion lies in delivering quality solutions that not only meet client requirements but exceed expectations,” he says. “I find deep fulfillment in watching my work evolve from concept to reality, and seeing it solve real-world problems.” With over 40 years of experience in Phase I and II drainage design, site development, and hydraulic studies, his expertise includes hydraulic reports, location drainage studies and memoranda, floodplain encroachment assessments, erosion control, and landscape design.
Paresh studied civil engineering at the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda in India before coming to the United States to build his engineering career. Before joining Primera, he led a wide range of complex infrastructure projects as a senior drainage and water resources engineer. He contributed to stormwater management and flood mitigation efforts using advanced modeling tools like EPA-SWMM, and prepared hydraulic reports and technical memoranda with HEC-RAS and HEC-HMS. Paresh also managed civil design and field engineering for large-scale transportation and municipal projects, including ADA ramp construction, roadway improvements, and utility coordination.
Outside of work, Paresh is family-focused, spending time with his parents, wife, and two children. He enjoys walking, going to the gym, reading, and watching football, basketball, and cricket. He is also active in the community, volunteering at free health fairs organized by Indian organizations and temples and helping pack meals for Feed My Starving Children.
