Eduardo DeSantiago Recognized in Crain’s 2022 Notable Executives of Color in Construction and Commercial Real Estate

Congratulations to Eduardo DeSantiago, PhD, PE, SE, Primera Vice President and Civil/Structural Engineering Director, for being selected as part of Crain’s Chicago Business 2022 Notable Executives of Color in Construction and Commercial Real Estate. Eduardo is one of over thirty leaders in the construction and commercial real estate industry honored for their professional contributions and their ability to inspire and lead their teams to greatness. Winners were selected based on their career accomplishments, promotion of education for young people of color, and involvement in professional and community-based organizations.

Eduardo has been with Primera for over 10 years and has more than 25 years of experience in the transportation and utilities sectors, specifically in structural analysis, design, and inspection of building, industrial and utility-related structures. He serves as Primera’s structural engineering expert, mentor, and trusted advisor to clients and his team. Most notably, during the past two years, Eduardo has been working on utilities upgrades in the energy sector. This work supports a clean energy economy and provides an important foundation integral to growth across the Nation, as part of the Build Back Better Act.

However, what makes Eduardo even more impressive is his selflessness in sharing his technical knowledge when he can. He spent over a decade teaching graduate and undergraduate courses on reinforced concrete, structural theory and finite element analysis while also conducting research. He’s acted as faculty advisor and has served on several advisory committees, facilitating innovation, connection, and communication via his roles in academia and other professional organizations. Lastly, he is a strong proponent of diversity and inclusion and works to find ways to provide resources and support for STEM programs for marginalized communities.

We’re proud of Eduardo’s accomplishments and would like to congratulate him, and the rest of the 2022 group, on this honor. To read more click here.
