Primera Sponsors Our Own’s I Gotta Guy Sausage Festival

Primera was honored to sponsor our own Guy Niedorkorn’s I Gotta Guy Sausage Festival this year. In it’s 13th year, the annual fundraiser raised close to $200,000 this year alone to benefit the Foundation for Prader-Willi Research (FPWR) and their efforts to fund Schaaf-Yang Syndrome (SYS) research. The event took place yesterday at Galleria Marchetti, was attended virtually by people from all over the world, and has fundraised for the FPWR and SAS since 2017.

This fundraiser is near and dear to our hearts as Guy’s granddaughter Emma was born with SYS six years ago. SYS is caused by a disruption of the MAGEL2 gene on chromosome 15. Currently, there are few treatments and no cure for SYS. It shares many clinical features with Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS) and the ultimate goal of the FPWR is to develop new therapies to improve the lives of individuals with both SYS and PWS. In light of the challenges Emma faces on a daily basis, we’re optimistic about her future because of the fundraising work Guy and his family are doing.

Guy joined Primera as Vice President and Director of Business Development for our Utilities division in 2018. Congrats, Guy on another successful fundraising event!
