What Does the New Infrastructure Bill mean to Illinois AEC Firms?

Last week, President Joe Biden signed a $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill into law that will deliver steady investments into our Nation’s infrastructure for the next several years. This funding will be used for much needed upgrades and will touch everything from roads to bridges, to railroads, public transit, and water and energy resources. $17B will be headed to Illinois, which adds to the already slated $45B that the State is spending on infrastructure. What does this mean to local architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) firms? Primera Senior Vice President, Lourdes Gonzalez, was a guest, along with other industry representatives, on WTTW’s Chicago Tonight: Latino Voices news series to discuss this very topic.
