Louisville Regional Airport Authority Switchgear Facility Replacement

Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport is a general aviation, civil-military, and cargo service airport that ranks second in North America for total cargo handled. In 2019, the airport began construction to replace the main terminal electrical switchgear. Primera was on hand to provide utility engineering services. The project consisted of the construction of a new pre-cast concrete vault/medium voltage substation and the installation of new medium voltage equipment, switchgear, pad mount transformers, and control equipment.

Primera’s scope of work included construction management, construction inspection, equipment inspection prior to installation, evaluation of switchgear and cabling for conformance to contract documents, equipment and cabling installation observation, inspection reports, client coordination, and preparation of a final project inspection report.
