This year’s event marked the organization’s 35th anniversary and brought supporters together to celebrate its ongoing work to make homes safer and healthier for people throughout Chicago and Cook County. Paint the Town also supports Rebuilding Together Metro Chicago’s Safe at Home program, which helps aging homeowners make needed repairs and modifications.
Primera Recognized for Longtime Support of Rebuilding Together
Primera was honored to receive the Rebuilder Award from Rebuilding Together Metro Chicago at its annual Paint the Town celebration.
The recognition is especially meaningful given Primera’s longstanding relationship with Rebuilding Together. Over the years, Primera employees have supported the organization through company-wide volunteer efforts, sponsorships, and participation in its programs and events. Primera has sponsored homes for the past 15 years as part of our annual commitment to community service and our Volunteer Time Off (VTO) program for employees.
At the heart of that relationship is Jill Deichmann, Primera’s Sr. Architecture Group Manager, whose connection to Rebuilding Together spans more than 30 years. Jill Deichmann first became involved as an undergraduate student at the University of Illinois Chicago and later joined the Rebuilding Together Metro Chicago Board. She served as Board President in 2016 and 2017 and was reappointed to the leadership role in 2024.
“Rebuilding Together has given me the opportunity to make a difference in people’s lives,” Jill Deichmann said when she was reappointed Board President. “I’ve seen the impact on not only the homes, but also the neighborhoods and communities. We aren’t just volunteers, we are neighbors helping neighbors.”
That spirit of neighbors helping neighbors is one Primera is proud to support, and the Rebuilder Award is a meaningful recognition of a relationship that has become an important part of how our people give back to the communities where we live and work. Primera was honored to sponsor Paint the Town for the second year in a row.
Rebuilding Together Metro Chicago’s mission is to provide free home repairs to the less fortunate, disabled, elderly, and veterans. Since 1991, RTMC has repaired 1,900 homes and 285 community facilities, thanks to the tireless efforts of tens of thousands of volunteers. Their impact is sustainable and often acts as a catalyst for additional neighborhood improvements.
