Great communication is about more than getting the message right. It’s about building trust, making connections, and making sure people feel heard. That approach has guided Angie DeAlba, PCM throughout her career at Primera, and we’re proud to share that she has been named one of Crain’s Chicago Business’ 2026 Notable Leaders in Communications.
As Primera’s Senior Director of Communications, Angie leads the firm’s communications and public engagement efforts, overseeing marketing, branding, digital strategy, media relations, corporate events, and public involvement. Having just celebrated her 15-year anniversary with Primera last week, Angie has helped grow the communications team and its role within the firm, while finding new ways to connect with employees, clients, partners, and the communities we serve.
One of the clearest examples is Primera’s public involvement efforts. Angie helped establish and grow the program, building on our communications expertise to support transportation and infrastructure projects throughout Chicagoland. She’s developed strategies, tools, and processes that guide public engagement efforts, helping our technical project teams connect with residents, gather meaningful input, and create opportunities for both English- and Spanish-speaking communities to participate in decisions affecting their neighborhoods. In doing so, she also helped expand Primera’s capabilities and create a new source of revenue for the firm.
