John Moran is one of Primera’s leading construction management experts with a knack for solving complex problems. “I enjoy working through challenges alongside owners and contractors,” he says. “Figuring out solutions to problems and fixing the issue has always been a passion of mine, whether I’m working on a project site or in the garage at home.” John brings this problem-solving and collaborative approach to all our transportation construction efforts, managing major projects for the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT), the Indiana Toll Road Concession Company, and other local agencies.
John earned his Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from Marquette University. His early interest in construction was sparked by time spent working alongside his father, a carpenter, and later as a laborer with a construction contractor. Before joining Primera, he spent nearly five years at INDOT, where he built strong industry relationships and technical expertise that continue to help him today. His background as an engineer, and his expertise in managing multi‑phase construction, coordinating with railroads, and navigating tight maintenance-of-traffic constraints, gives him a well‑rounded understanding of what it takes to deliver high‑quality projects in the field. In his current role, John also supports strategic growth for Primera’s Indiana construction practice while leading high‑profile projects that require close coordination of large teams.
Outside the office, John enjoys spending time with his family, often outdoors. He likes woodworking, hands‑on garage projects, summer gardening, and fishing with his kids. John also stays active in his community by coaching basketball, volleyball, and youth soccer at his children’s school.
