A small, but mighty group of volunteers from Primera’s Mid-Atlantic Consulting team partnered with the Chester County Parks + Preservation Department on June 30th to help spruce up an area at Springton Manor Farm located in Glenmoor, PA. Jake Bashioum, Business Analyst on our GIS services team, took the lead in coordinating the sponsored Volunteer-Time-Off (VTO) event. Seven members from our Consulting group (most of them residents of Chester County) spent half the day removing 250 feet of fencing at the farm, filling the holes with soil, and cleaning up the area, which is open to the public. Springton Manor Park is a demonstration farm where visitors can meet the animals and learn about Chester County’s farming history. The farm has been in agricultural use since the early 1700s, with the barn area housing several animals.
GIS Analyst, Ethan Fink, enjoyed the opportunity to help give back, “It was a rewarding experience to know that I was helping to provide a safer and more accessible place for children and families to play. Even the park rangers were impressed that we were able to remove the whole section of the fence in just half a day’s work!” Giving back to our local communities is important part of Primera’s values. That is why the company provides every employee with eight hours of volunteer time off each year, with the option to support most any local organization. Jake and his family spend lots of time at different parks throughout Chester County, which is why he was motivated to reach out to them for opportunities. Our Mid-Atlantic office located in Chadds Ford, PA is home to nearly 30 employees and is looking forward to hopefully more future give back days with them!
