Primera evaluated the existing civil utilities over the entire University of Chicago campus and performed an assessment of future utility needs. Work included the review and analysis of the potable water distribution system, sanitary and storm sewer collection and conveyance networks, and civil impacts due to construction of other centralized utility projects (chilled water, steam, condensate, compressed air, natural gas, electrical). Sustainable development practices were identified and recommended for inclusion in the University’s development policies. Primera also coordinated with City of Chicago agencies and departments to synergize University growth plans with the City’s utility service planning.
Primera’s scope of services included data collection and analysis, planning and alternatives analysis, and preparation of a summary report.
