The BBVA Bancomer Torre (Headquarters Tower) and Centro Operativo (Operations Center) projects are located in Mexico City. The Tower soars at 225 meters high over 50 floors and can accommodate around 4,500 employees, while the Operations Center stands at 137 meters high with 32 floors and houses some 4,500 people as well.
Primera was selected as the LEED Consultant and Commissioning Agent and was an integral member of the selection committee that reviewed the proposals of six international architectural firms that participated in the design competition.
A multi-disciplinary team from the BBVA Group, together with Primera and other internationally recognized specialists, spent months assessing 77 factors including: technical, design, timing and cost, and chose a design that could physically depict the values inherent to BBVA’s corporate culture. These values include:
- Building efficiency
- Sustainable development
- Application of emerging trends in technology
- Buildings with low maintenance costs
- Development of the city
- And, above all, a firm commitment to the quality of life of its employees
In addition, the contemporary design and engineering solutions used for optimizing energy consumption minimize environmental impact and will contribute to obtaining LEED Gold certification for the Tower and LEED Silver certification for the Operations Center.
