Primera provided engineering design for the replacement of the Touhy Avenue bridge over the North Branch of the Chicago River in Niles, Illinois. The existing structure, a 65-foot-long simple span concrete beam, did not meet minimum hydraulic clearances. The new bridge now features a simple span reinforced concrete deck on composite 33-inch-deep steel girders, supported by integral abutments with a 15-degree skew. Primera provided Phase II engineering services. which included the preparation of Type, Size, and Location (TS&L) plans, contract documents (plans, special provisions, and cost estimates), Maintenance of Traffic plans, and Phase III support for the improvements.
