Primera partnered with a Fortune 500 utility to improve their safety best practices and demonstrate compliance with American Petroleum Institute’s (API’s) Recommended Practice for Pipeline Safety Management Systems (RP 1173). The PSMS looks at safety from multiple angles and engages the entire workforce in mitigating risk and improving safety performance.
Primera has experience functioning as the PMO and conducting reviews for PSMS compliance and assessment. Primera successfully supported teams to create and update documents to demonstrate that the tenets of PSMS are identified. Additionally, Primera helped establish metrics and teams so that progress and performance could be evaluated on a regular basis. The PMO worked with the energy company to create Continuous Improvement and Change Management programs that fall into PSMS’s cycle of Plan-Do-Check-Act.
Primera’s work in this area also includes assessment and auditing and building programs from the ground up for safer operations overall.
