The Elgin Riverwalk Promenade project was the first all-LED project for the City of Elgin in Illinois. The project included the design development and construction documentation phase of Riverside Drive including the pedestrian promenade, bike path, Fox River overlooks, plantings and lighting.
The electrical scope for this project included the addition of a new electrical service, new street, pedestrian, and landscape lighting, and power distribution for lighting and special events. For the key gathering areas within this park, RGB LED color changing lighting was used to saturate tensile fabric structures to give focus during events and festivals.
Primera performed photometric calculations and also designed the new electrical service, electrical distribution system, branch circuiting to support lighting, and exterior lighting controls. Primera coordinated all efforts with ComEd and the City of Elgin to extend electrical service to the project location and ensure a successful project.
