Amanda Beck Larkin is Primera’s leading fire protection and life safety specialist. She is a registered Professional Engineer and Certified Fire Protection Specialist who views her role as an opportunity to save lives. According to Amanda, “by continuing to learn and earn additional certifications I’m able to create designs that will make buildings safer for our clients and the people that utilize these spaces.” Her work has included engineering, design and construction administration of fire protection systems for institutional, educational, healthcare, commercial, residential, parks and recreation, and light industrial facilities. She is also certified in water based fire systems by the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET).
Amanda studied mechanical engineering at Arizona State University and spent several years managing Intel’s ISO certification process before transitioning into her fire protection specialty. Her background with the ISO certification process makes her a natural fit at Primera given our ISO-certified quality program and our commitment to providing our clients with a superior product.
When she’s not designing fire protection systems, she is designing and creating just about everything else. She makes her own wine and beer, builds custom furniture, bakes elaborate cakes, knits, crochets, makes jewelry and stained glass and likes to tackle home renovation projects among other things. She also finds the time to travel to obscure sites and visit archeological sites, distilleries, wineries and breweries.
