Working For Primera
Our Transportation division is a talented team of experts working together to deliver engineering solutions that move people in a smarter way. We provide full-service planning, design and construction management services on everything from roadways and bridges to airports, stormwater infrastructure, and parks/recreation projects primarily for state and local agencies and municipalities.
Who You Are
- You know transportation. You’re a licensed professional engineer and have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil/transportation engineering or a related field, and between 7-10 years of experience.
- You have advanced knowledge of transportation planning, design, and construction management. Having previous leadership and project management experience is a must.
- You’ve worked with local, state, and county agencies including Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).
- You’re a multitasker with strong research and problem-solving skills and an enviable attention to detail.
- You’re a strong communicator with excellent teamwork and analytical skills.
- You have significant supervisory, mentoring, delegation, and leadership skills.
- You’re proficient with business and engineering applications. Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and/or Microstation are a must. Experience with Civil 3D or Geopak is a plus.
- You’re a people person and enjoy working in a team and connecting with others. You have a natural ability to lead and mentor. You’re comfortable working independently or with others.
What You'll Do
- You’ll lead and manage all aspects of large and complex transportation engineering projects within the specific discipline.
- You’ll supervise a team of engineers and other technical staff and provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering staff. You’ll assign work duties to engineers and other technical staff; manage workload and staffing needs; and review technical work of staff during all phases.
- You’ll manage budgets, schedules, and resources for engineering projects.
- You’ll assist in developing and implementing departmental strategies aligned with company goals.
- You’ll ensure compliance with local, state, and federal transportation regulations.
- You’ll connect with people. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate project activities and integrate transportation engineering solutions.
- You’ll flex your business development chops. You’ll attend client meetings and build positive relationships with clients on projects. You’ll assist with business development efforts to market Primera services to existing and potential clients.

Starting salary is between $110,000 – $115,000 based on skills and qualifications, with the high end of the range limited to applicants based on relevant years of experience.
