Eduardo is Primera’s leading structural expert in the utility market. He has more than 15 years of experience in structural analysis, design, and inspection in addition to an impressive academic and research career. “Primera is a fast growing company with many opportunities to provide leadership and guidance,” he explains. “I hope to make full use of my previous experience and research background to help position Primera as a thought leader in the Energy field. It’s a unique opportunity for us to provide additional value to our clients.” His expertise includes analysis, design, and inspection of building, utility and industrial structures; preparation of designs and contract documents; review of construction-related documents; and project and personnel management.
Eduardo studied structural engineering at the Illinois Institute of Technology before heading off to Stanford University where he received both his master’s and PhD in structural engineering. After being the first Chicano/Latino to be awarded a Doctorate from the Department of Engineering, he spent more than a decade teaching both graduate and undergraduate courses on reinforced concrete, structural theory and finite element analysis while also conducting research. In 2008, he left the academic world for a small engineering firm where he specialized in the design of supporting structural platforms, industrial buildings, foundations for heavy equipment and process steel towers.
When he’s not at work, he focuses most of his energy on his two young daughters. “I enjoy taking them to their gymnastics, tae-kwon do, and ballet classes as well as spending time reading with them,” he boasts. With the energy he has left, he enjoys running and weightlifting.
