Nick Sternowski is Primera’s Sr. Director of Operations. With a distinguished career spanning two decades, Nick plays a pivotal role in driving performance, innovation, and profitability across the firm. He has amassed expertise in power generation, reactor design, engineering, and statistical analysis and has a proven track record of solving complex technical problems in heavily regulated environments.

Nick studied electrical engineering at Iowa State University before starting his career as a U.S. Navy Submarine Officer. He was previously licensed as a senior reactor operator by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission and as an engineer officer by the U.S. Navy Department of Naval Reactors. He holds an MBA from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, which has extended his operational acumen to project financial performance, program management, and strategic alignment.

When Nick steps away from his professional role, he immerses himself in family, sports, and giveback efforts. He enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons and is an avid player on the tennis courts. He’s also a devoted fan of the Iowa State Cyclones and tries to catch a game whenever possible. As a third-generation military veteran, his commitment to fellow service members runs deep. Proudly supporting the Navy and Marine Corps Relief Society, Nick leaves an indelible mark on both his professional and personal journey.
